In this post, I will share a personal story about my Hıdırellez traditions and the power of wishes. Every year, I perform certain rituals on Hıdırellez night, and I have seen some of my wishes come true. In 2019, I wished for something different, and it turned out to be the most significant wish that I had ever made. The story is about finding love and the journey that led to it.
After my experience in the story I’m about to tell, I began to think that the older the plant, the more intense the energy of my wishes. The first time I buried my wishes under a very old tree and it came true very quickly, which got me thinking about it. Since then, I have had similar experiences in my later rituals.
Of course, this is my personal belief, but it gives me happiness and I believe that the older the plant, the stronger its energy and that our wishes will reach the universe with its ancient energy.
Nature has a way of balancing and renewing energy, and by connecting with it we can harness its power to manifest our desires. A simple yet powerful way to align our intentions with the universe.
Now I can start my story!
Every year, I make sure to follow my Hıdırellez traditions. Some of my wishes come true, while others transform and become reality. 2019 was a year of significant spiritual and personal growth for me. In early May, I embarked on a 15-day journey to walk the Lycian Way and find myself. It was the most mystical journey of my life. On Hıdırellez night, regardless of where I am, I always write my wishes on a piece of paper and bury it under a plant, tree, or flower that I find. I did the same during my journey, writing my wishes on a piece of paper and burying them under a massive pine tree where I had set up my tent. Usually, I would wish for things like health, wealth, and happiness, but that year, I wished for true love. I wished for someone with whom I could share a love that was equal, someone who could be both my friend and life partner, and for a relationship that wouldn’t be exhausting. The next day I continued on my way; I walked on a path by the cliffs, climbed for miles, stayed in mountain villages and set up tent in ancient Lycian cemeteries. As I began my journey back home, I realized that I had never felt happier in my life.

Today is Hıdırellez, and I will once again make my wishes. I have no doubt that they will come true. If you have a story about Hıdırellez, feel free to share it in the comments.
